Make College Easier to Pay For with a Tuition Payment Plan.
Paying for the rising costs of a college education is a concern for nearly every student and family. To help you meet your educational expenses, Savannah State University is pleased to offer Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) as a convenient budget plan. This is not a loan program. You have no debt, there are no interest or finance charges, and there is no credit check. Enrollment is this plan is easy and available online.
Payment Plan Information
Payment Methods
- Automatic bank payments (ACH)
- Credit card/ debit card (An additional service fee of 2.85% will be assessed)
Payments are processed automatically on the 5th and 20th of each month.
Cost to Participate
- Your only cost is a small enrollment fee:
- $60 for 4 monthly payment plans
- $70 for 3 monthly payment plans
- $75 for 2 monthly payment plans
- Up to $30 nonrefundable returned payment fee if a payment is returned
Sign up early to maximize the benefit of spreading your payments over the maximum amount of months for the lowest enrollment fee.
NOTE: All down payments must be paid to Nelnet Campus Commerce and NOT Savannah State University.
Simple Steps to Enroll
- Go to www.savannahstate.edu
- Log in to the PAWS portal
- On the Home page, select “Nelnet Payment Plan”
- Select the appropriate term
- Click on “Pay by Nelnet Payment Plan”
Authorized Payers
- If you are paying on behalf of the student, the student must access or set up their account first and then add you as an Authorized Payer.
- Log in here after your student sets you up as an Authorized Payer.
Before you click the Authorize button, please read carefully through the Terms and Conditions. An immediate e-mail will be sent confirming enrollment in the payment plan.

Maximum Amount to Budget
The maximum amount you may budget is $5500, any amount over this will be added to your down payment.
Balance Adjustments
Your balance will be automatically adjusted if financial aid is received or a class is dropped or added. To adjust the amount of your Payment Plan Agreement, you must complete the Request to Adjust Nelnet Agreement form and submit it to the Cashier’s Office on your campus.
Students
If someone is paying on your behalf, you MUST first set them up as an Authorized Payer.
